Lake Te Anau
Last year I was in the small town (Te Anau) by Lake Te Anau in the South Island of New Zealand. A small town with a population of only more than 2,000 people, surrounded by mountains and lakes. The town itself is not very distinctive, but it is the only place to pass in and out of the world-famous Milford Sound. . We stayed here for two nights. We didn’t see the sunset by the lake in the two evenings. The clouds were too thick and blocked the sun, but the changing clouds were also visible. There are rolling hills on the east of the lake, so you can’t see the sunrise in the town. However, the tranquility and dreamy feeling of the lake in the early morning is enough to be evocative.

This morning, the morning we were about to leave, we left the hotel alone and crossed the highway to the lake. The lake was quiet, the mountain seemed to be still asleep, the boat was floating on the lake, and only a few ducks (mandarin ducks) were playing in the water. During the day there are swimming, boating and fishing on the lake, which is also a busy sight.

Te Anau, Lake is New Zealand’s second largest lake, the largest lake in the South Island, and the largest glacial lake in the southern hemisphere. It is located in the mountainous area of southwestern South Island, surrounded by the Southern Alps, with an altitude of 210 meters, a lake length of 61 kilometers, a widest point of 9.7 kilometers, and an area of 344 square kilometers. The maximum water depth is 417 meters, but 207 meters are below sea level. Walking around the lake, this view is intoxicating.
